About this talk

The people who use the services we design are not the faceless, anonymous, calm and rational actors we imagine. They are emotional, unpredictable, tired, heart-first human beings, trying to navigate through our complex systems the best way they can.

In her consulting work, including previous roles as Digital Behaviour Commissioner for NHS England and Head of UX for Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service, speaker Denise Hampson has encountered again and again the need to design services for real, emotional people.

In this talk, Denise will describe some fundamental aspects of human behaviour and how we can use that knowledge to design better services.
