Open Digital Planning: new services designed by Local Authority Planners
A Talk by Matt Wood-Hill (Head of Planning Software, Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities)
About this Talk
The Open Digital Planning team is made up of planners and officers from Local Government and supported by digital professionals from central government (DLUHC) and the private sector. Find out how they have been working together to design and launch three new digital planning services so that making and assessing a planning application is easier than ever before. The products are designed by planners and emphasise the seamless use of data across and between the services. This talk will give an overview of the services, the team’s approach to co-design with a group of nine adopting councils, and early feedback on how things have been going. You’ll hear about our plans to scale up the services to process more types of planning applications in more councils, and learn how you can join or follow the nine pioneering councils on this journey.
